Yet another late night. Hopefully my internal clock smartens up and figures this stuff out.
My first tube ride was incredibly easy. The transportation system here is so very simple to learn. My first stop... Westminster Abbey. When you walk out of the Westminster Underground Station, Big Ben is looking right at you. It's impeccable size and beauty is indescribable. I'm not sure if it's my appreciation for architecture or if everyone feels this way, but I could look at Westminster Abbey for hours. I did actually. I had a snack and coffee in a little shop facing the building.
I then headed to Angel Station and neighbourhood to meet my friend Leon. Leon had previously visited Canada about 1.5 years ago but it felt like no time had gone by. Waiting outside for him made me realize that the cold here is different. Despite being dressed warmly and it only being 6 degrees out, I was not freezing, but chilly! The cold here really gets in your bones.
We went to a great little Cuban restaurant. It was so nice to see a familiar face at this point. We talked for hours just catching up on lost time.
The next day, I met up with Leon again at Aldgate Station in the East End. I'm so glad Leon suggested this area as there was a huge market and great weather to walk around in. There was beautiful things both vintage and new and unbelievable smells. We had this ridiculously delicious bagel at London's oldest bagel shop -- a hot salt beef bagel with cream cheese. Sooo good!
After shopping around some more, I decided to head back. A nice quiet night before my big day (i.e. first day of class and birthday!)

So to fix your internal clock...I find it works out to...well for longer trips anyway...you catch up by an hour everyday...so you should be good by the end of the week!
